Luke Snyder is an award-winning composer, orchestrator, arranger, and keyboardist. From a very young age, Luke was fascinated by music, particularly orchestral and soundtrack music. When he was 11 years old, he began studying and experimenting with composition, digitally writing melodies and arranging pieces. He has continued this every day since.
He graduated Lipscomb University in 2023, with a degree in production and an emphasis on commercial composition. During his time in school, he won first place in the Five Minute Film Festival in the best score category 2 years in a row, and also received Lipscomb’s Excellence in Composition Award. In his junior year, he was a finalist in the Marvin Hamlisch International Music Awards, in the Film Scoring competition. He was also a keyboardist in the house band for a variety of Lipscomb events, such as Singarama, the Five Minute Film Festival, and other events.
Since graduating, Luke has had the opportunity to work with a variety of talented and established artists. Some of these include writing string arrangements for Colton Dixon, and orchestrating music for Tommee Profitt’s live Christmas concert.
Luke’s teaching style is completely based on what the student wants to do with the skills they are learning. He gets to know each individual, and guides them through a study that is completely unique to them. He strives to create an atmosphere of freedom and experimentation, and loves seeing musicians grow into their musical selves.
Luke teaches lessons in Commercial Composition, and Logic Pro/Garageband.
